What is MetLife Legal Plans?
MetLife Legal Plans is the country’s largest provider of legal benefits. MetLife Legal Plans offers enrolled employees and their families easy access to the legal help they need for the common legal issues many people face, such as buying or selling a home, starting a family, dealing with identity theft, caring for aging parents, and much more.

When enrolled in a MetLife Legal Plan, members get access to:
  • An Experienced Attorney Network: You have access to the largest attorney network (18,000+ attorneys) available, as well as the option to use an attorney outside of our network and be reimbursed for part of the costs.
  • Access to Digital Tools: We provide a simple, guided process for employees to complete wills, living wills, durable power of attorney documents, and living trusts, all online in as a little as 15 minutes.
  • Broad Coverage: With over 100 legal matters covered, you can see attorneys as many times as you need to throughout the year.¹
  • Cost-effective legal help – The cost of MetLife Legal Plans coverage for the whole year is around $200, that’s less than an attorney’s average hourly rate of $391.²
Who is a MetLife Legal Plans member?
A member is an employee that is currently enrolled in MetLife Legal Plans.

Who is a colleague?
A colleague is an employee that is not currently enrolled in the MetLife Legal Plans benefit but works at the member’s company.

What is the referral program?
Over the years, members have consistently provided high satisfaction scores and feedback that they highly recommend others to become MetLife Legal Plans customers. Therefore, we are offering a limited referral program to allow enrolled members the ability to easily refer their colleagues so they can learn about the value of the MetLife Legal Plans benefit.

Through the referral program, members could earn a $25 gift card³ to Amazon®, Starbucks®, Dunkin’ Donuts®, Panera® or Walmart®⁴ for every three colleagues they refer to learn more about MetLife Legal Plans.

How long will the referral program run?
The program will start in September 2023 and end on November 30, 2023.

How does the referral program work?
  1. Members visit share.legalplans.com/agroup
  2. Members enter the email address previously used to complete a survey with MetLife Legal Plans, so we know where to send your reward
  3. Members send a referral email or share their personalized referral link via SMS or instant messaging (e.g., Slack, Teams, Skype) with colleagues, which allows us to track all your referrals and ensure you receive your rewards
  4. The colleagues you refer will be sent a link to a site with this short video about MetLife Legal Plans
  5. When three or more of the colleagues you referred enter their name, work email and zip code, you will receive a $25 gift card³ to Amazon®, Starbucks®, Dunkin’ Donuts®, Panera® or Walmart®.⁴
Who can make referrals?
Individuals could receive a link from MetLife Legal Plans that they can use to make referrals.

Who can receive referrals?
A colleague of a MetLife Legal Plans member that works at the same company can receive referrals. Colleagues can be referred by members but cannot make referrals.

How many referrals can a member make?
Members can refer up to 5 colleagues a day and 15 total colleagues over the course of the referral program.

What could members earn by making referrals?
Members could earn a $25 gift card³ to Amazon®, Starbucks®, Dunkin’ Donuts®, Panera® or Walmart®.⁴

How can members track their referrals?
Members will receive a stats email showing how many shares and referrals they’ve driven and how much they’ve earned from the program. Members can also visit the share page (share.legalplans.com), and click Email My Stats, found under the sharing options.

How will colleagues know that they are being referred?
After Members send their colleagues a referral via email, SMS or instant messaging, the referred colleagues will receive the referral communication, that will have a link to a site with this short video about MetLife Legal Plans and instructions outlining how to submit the required credentials for you to receive your reward.

Once a referral is made, when will members receive their reward?
Rewards will be fulfilled shortly after all three of the referred colleagues have entered their name, zip code and company email address on the referral site.

How do members know when they have earned a reward?
Where applicable, rewards will be fulfilled shortly after at least three of the referred colleagues have entered their name, zip code and company email address on the referral site and be sent from noreply@tangocard.com.

What if a member referred their colleague but never received their reward?
To make a successful referral, members must enter the email used to previously complete a MetLife Legal Plans survey and share the referral with their colleague via email, SMS or instant messaging. The three referred colleagues must also all enter their full name, zip code and company email address. If these steps have been completed and the member has yet to receive their referral, they can contact us via email at mlpproductandstrategyoffice@legalplans.com. The email should include the email address the member used to make the referral and the company email address of the referred colleague(s).

How do members and colleagues unsubscribe from the email list?
Each email we send contains an unsubscribe link. Note: if you haven't registered for the referral program and have received an email from us, it is because someone you know thought you might like this opportunity. We do not sell email addresses or send spam.

Are there any special restrictions or rules for the referral program?
This program has a simple set of rules to ensure that members are referring their colleagues and are not spamming large lists or referring themselves. The rules are:
  1. Members may earn one reward for at least three valid referrals, up to a maximum of $25 in rewards.
  2. Members can only submit the email addresses used to complete an MLP survey when making or completing a referral. Random email addresses will not be accepted.
  3. Members may not use spam to obtain referrals. They may not acquire referrals through unsolicited email to persons unknown to them, or through net or message board postings where the postings are unrelated to the topic of discussion or otherwise violate the terms of the site.
